Ducks Swept on Final Day of Husky Invite

Oregon lost duals to ninth-ranked Long Beach State and No. 20 Washington on Saturday.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team lost twice Saturday, falling to top-20 opponents Long Beach State and weekend host Washington on the final day of the Husky Invitational. The Ducks drop to 5-16 this season with 10 of those losses coming to ranked teams.
After being swept by ninth-ranked Long Beach State, the Ducks closed out its weekend in Seattle against Washington. The home Huskies clinched the dual at 3-0 but Oregon played on into the third sets at No. 1 and 3 pairs. At the top spot, the duo of Bella Gamache and AJ Slojkowski took the opening frame but the UW pair of Teila Allen and Jade Sadeiko rallied to win sets two and three.
On court three, Kamilah Checani and Gwen Fife lost the first set to Brooke Balue and Niki Egan but came back to prevail in a back-and-forth second and force the decisive set. However, the Huskies duo was able to pull away for a 21-13, 19-21, 15-10 result.
