Breazu Earns Ranked Singles Win in East Lansing

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Oregon men's tennis team came up short of a conference win against Michigan State on Sunday morning.
The Ducks surrendered the doubles point to the Spartans, with losses on courts one and three.
Clement Lemire earned a win in favor of the Ducks, opening singles play with a 7-6 (7-2), 7-5 win against Vuk Radjenovic on court four. Paris Pouatcha forced No. 63 Matthew Forbes into a tiebreak during their first set, but ultimately lost on court three.
On court two, Vlad Breazu earned a valuable ranked win, taking down No. 21 Aristotelis Thanos in a straight-set victory. Breazu is 8-3 in singles play on the season, with six of those wins coming from the No. 2 spot.
The match ended in favor of the hosts, with Michigan State closing out the match with wins on courts one and six. The Ducks return to Eugene to continue conference play as they host Ohio State and Penn State on March 14 and 16.
