EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon men's tennis team dropped their first home match to the Ohio State Buckeyes in a 4-0 loss on Friday night.
Ohio State gained an early advantage, securing the doubles point from courts two and three. Paris Pouatcha and Clement Lemire were leading 5-2 on court two, but the match went unfinished.
Lemire was first to fall in singles, winning three games but ultimately losing against No. 74 ranked Jack Anthrop. Lenn Luemkemann fell 6-1, 6-4 to No. 10 ranked Aidan Kim on court one. The Buckeyes clinched their victory with No. 50 Alexander Bernard's win over Vlad Breazu.
Pouatcha picked up a set with a 6-4 win on court three and was tied at 5-5 when the match finished. Matthew Burton and Lachlan Robertson went unfinished on courts five and six respectively.
