LAST TIME OUT
In a battle of former conference rivals, a tightly contested battle at the Invisalign Bay Area Women's Classic went the way of the Cardinal.
Oregon got a double-double for the third straight game from Mia Jacobs to go with 14 points from both Ehis Etute and Katie Fiso, but a five-point game with less than two minutes to play turned into a 64-53 Cardinal victory at Chase Center.
The Ducks (12-2) trailed by as many as 11 in the first half, but chipped away at Stanford's (11-2) lead and took a three-point lead midway through the third quarter after a Jacobs triple and a Fiso layup. The Cardinal responded by scoring the next eight and never relinquished the lead again.
UO shot 32 percent from the field as a team, but went just 2-of-14 from the 3-point line with Jacobs accounting for both triples. Stanford shot 40 percent overall and 33 percent from beyond the arc while owning a 40-24 edge in points in the paint.
SCOUTING MICHIGAN
No. 6 Michigan enters Monday's tilt with a 10-1 overall record and a 1-0 Big Ten mark, having won six straight games after suffering its lone loss of the season - a three-point loss to current No. 1 UConn.
