Ducks Wrap Up Homestand vs. Indiana

EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon women's basketball team wraps up its three-game homestand on Friday evening, as the Ducks welcome the Indiana Hoosiers to Matthew Knight Arena for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
Oregon has won five straight home games and boasts a 12-1 mark at Matthew Knight Arena this season. The Ducks have won seven of their last nine games overall, and five of the last six, after a 50-49 win over Iowa on Sunday.
The Ducks hold a 2-0 lead in the all-time series with the Hoosiers, including a 1-0 home record. Friday's contest will be the first since a second-round matchup in the 2019 NCAA Tournament, which UO won 91-68 on its way to a Final Four berth.

LAST TIME OUT
Oregon improved to 2-0 on its homestand with a 50-49 comeback victory over Iowa on Sunday. The Ducks trailed by 10 at halftime and by as many as 15 in the first half for their largest comeback win of the season. Oregon held the Hawkeyes to just 17 second-half points on 6-of 21 shooting.
Phillipina Kyei led the Ducks with 12 points, with eight coming in the second half, while Deja Kelly added 10 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Elisa Mevius capped a 13-0 UO run in the fourth quarter with a corner 3-pointer, handing the Ducks their first lead of the game with just under six minutes to play, 44-41.
The 49 points marked Iowa's fewest in any game since the 2012-13 season while the 50 points were the fewest in a UO win since Nov. 25, 2006 - snapping a 49-game skid when scoring 50 points or less.
SCOUTING INDIANA
Indiana (12-6, 4-3) comes to Eugene having lost two straight, and three of its last five, following a 73-66 home loss to No. 4 USC on Sunday. The Hoosiers began the season ranked 25th in the Associated Press poll, their only week in the AP top 25.
Four of IU's five starters are averaging double-digit points, led by Yarden Garzon's 13.7 a game. Sydney Parrish, who averages 10.6 points per game, leads the Hoosiers with 6.1 rebounds a night.
As a team, Indiana ranks fourth in free throw percentage (76.8), fifth in 3-pointers per game (7.3), fifth in turnovers per game (14.5) and sixth in 3-point shooting (34.2).
Garzona is No. 2 in the Big Ten with 2.6 made 3-pointers a game while ranking fourth in 3-point percentage at a 38.8 clip. Chloe Moore-McNeil is sixth in the league in assist-to-turnover ratio at 1.97 while ranking 11th with 3.9 assists a night.
INSIDE THE SERIES
Friday's game will be the third all-time meeting between Oregon and Indiana, with the last matchup coming at Matthew Knight Arena in the second round of the 2019 NCAA Tournament. The two-seeded Ducks defeated the No. 10-seed Hoosiers 91-68, getting a 29-point, 12-assist, 10-rebounds triple-double from Sabrina Ionescu on their way to a berth in the Final Four in Tampa Fla. The first meeting between the teams came in 1984, with UO earning a 77-56 win in Portland.
DUCK DEFENSE
Oregon has made life difficult for its opponents on the offensive end this season. The Duck defense has registered double-digit steals in eight of its last 12 games, and in 10 of its last 16 games overall, including a season-high 17 coming against Air Force on Dec. 17. Additionally, UO is allowing opponents to shoot just 28.8 percent from beyond the arc, and has allowed only six teams to shoot over 30.0 percent. UO allowed North Texas and Grand Canyon to shoot a combined 7-of-30 from deep over a two-game stretch (Nov. 12-18).
» The Ducks have held each of their last 10 opponents below its season average, by an average of 14.0 points a game, while not allowing a team to reach the 70-point plateau in that stretch.

Last year, UO averaged just 9.6 points a night from its bench and opponents outscored the Ducks' bench by 288 points.
