Road Trip to the San Diego Invitational

Oregon (4-1) takes on No. 17 BYU and San Diego this weekend.
EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 12 Oregon volleyball team will spend the third weekend of the season with a trip to the Golden State for the three-team San Diego Invitational. The Ducks open play Friday with a top-20 matchup with No. 17 BYU followed by Saturday's meeting with host San Diego.

Series History vs BYU
Friday will be the 13th meeting in the all-time series between Oregon and BYU, and the first since 2017. BYU holds a 10-2 advantage in the series. The last two meetings have come in the NCAA Tournament; a second-round win by BYU in 2017 and a regional semifinal win by Oregon in 2012. Prior to that 2012 matchup, the teams hadn't met since 1988.
Series History vs San Diego
Oregon takes a 3-2 edge against USD into Saturday's match in San Diego. The teams met in the 2023 season opener, a 3-0 victory for the Ducks in Honolulu. Mimi Colyer had 15 kills and nine digs and Daley McClellan had seven digs in that match. Prior to last season, the programs hadn't met since 1996.
Last Time Out
The Ducks capped an undefeated weekend at the Ram Volleyball Classic with a sweep of Central Arkansas (Sept. 8). With a balanced effort, Oregon posted a .360 hitting efficiency while holding UCA to a -.075 figure. Individually, Michelle Ohwobete posted her first double-double (12 kills, 12 digs) as a Duck and Mimi Colyer put down a match-high 14 kills. The road weekend also included wins over Colorado State and Grand Canyon.
Oh My, Onye
Senior middle Onye Ofoegbu turned in a standout weekend at the Ram Volleyball Classic, posting 3.17 kills per set coupled with a .500 hitting percentage. Among the highlights, she had 19 kills while hitting .621 against Grand Canyon. She had just one attack error in 29 swings against the Lopes. Ofoegbu also finished the weekend with 13 total blocks.
Offensive Options
Mimi Colyer had a season-high 19 kills in the Ducks' four-set win at Colorado State, one of four UO players to reach double digits in the match. Noemie Glover and Sophie Gregoire each recorded 11 kills while Onye Ofoegbu tallied 10 kills of her own. Redshirt freshman Cristin Cline dished out 45 assists to lead the offense to a .323 hitting percentage.
Stepping In
Senior co-captain Daley McClellan picked up a career-high 20 digs in the Ducks' four-set win at Colorado State. She entered the match with a previous best of 14 digs from the 2022 season. McClellan also posted a career-high eight assists. After beginning the match as a defensive specialist, she changed into the libero jersey to start the second set.
Milestone Watch, Pt. 1
Senior Onye Ofoegbu enters Friday's match against BYU with 995 career kills, needing just five to reach 1,000 between her time at UC Irvine and Oregon. Ofoegbu registered 947 kills in three seasons at Irvine before joining the Ducks' roster prior to the 2023 campaign. Through the first five matches of her Oregon career, she is averaging 2.67 kills per set to go along with a .438 hitting percentage; Ofoegbu redshirted in 2023.
Milestone Watch, Pt. 2
Senior outside hitter Michelle Ohwobete needs just two aces to reach 100 in her career. She registered 95 aces in her three years at UCSB including a career-high 38 last season. She is one of six Ducks with at least three aces heading into the USD road trip.

Entering the week, the Ducks rank among the top 30 nationally in hitting percentage (.280/22nd) and opponent hitting percentage (.143/29th). Oregon is also 30th in the NCAA with 2.72 blocks per set. Individually, Cristin Cline is second in the Big Ten and fifth in the NCAA with 11.53 assists per set while Onye Ofoegbu is fourth in the conference with a .438 hitting percentage, also good for 31st in the nation.
