08/15/24 | Cross Country
Oregon hosts the Dellinger Invitational (Oct. 11) in Springfield.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon cross country team will compete twice at home and in its first Big Ten Championships as part of its recently announced 2024 schedule. The season begins Aug. 30 when the men's team takes on the Utah Valley Invitational in Orem, Utah.
The women's team officially gets started Sept. 6 with the Pre's Trail Run hosted by the Oregon Track Club. The early season meet will start at 7 p.m. (PT) in Eugene. Three weeks later, the women travel to Madison, Wis., for the Nuttycombe Invitational. Madison will also be the host site for the NCAA Cross Country Championships (Nov. 23).
Following the Utah Valley Invitational, the men's team will run at the Cowboy Jamboree (Sept. 28) in Stillwater, Okla.
After competing separately through the first month of the season, the UO men and women re-connect for the Bill Dellinger Invitational on Friday, Oct. 11, in Springfield, Ore. The men's 8K is scheduled for an 11:15 a.m. (PT) start followed by the women's 6K at noon.
The 2024 postseason begins Friday, Nov. 1, with the Big Ten Championships hosted by the University of Illinois. The NCAA West Region Championships will then be Nov. 15 in Colfax, Wash. The top-two teams in each race earn an automatic spot in the national field with 13 teams from around the country getting at-large bids.
The Ducks return four all-region runners—Katie Clute, Elliott Cook, Maddy Elmore, Anika Thompson—from last year's roster.
