Ducks Go 2-0 on Saturday

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon sweeps two matches on Saturday, improving to 10-6 on the season.
Match one, BYU:
A beautiful spring day allowed for the Ducks to play outside for the first time this season, a beautiful Saturday afternoon setting. The Ducks, motivated by a lively crowd, got a win on court one with a quick 6-1 result. BYU got a match back on three, leaving the point to be decided on court two. At six-all, Jesper Klov-Nilsson and Ivailo Keremedchiev went to a tiebreak and pulled out a 7-5 win to clinch the point.
Luke Vandecasteele started on fire in singles and got Oregon's second point of the day with a 6-2, 6-3 result. Joshua Charlton carried his momentum from doubles into singles, winning the third point of the day (6-2, 7-6(5). The Ducks looked strong on all remaining courts, but just needed one more point. The clinching point came from Jesper Klov-Nilsson on four, sweeping his match 6-4, 6-2.

Match two, Portland State:
The Ducks tested out some new lineups in the evening match, with Russell Soohoo seeing his first action of the dual season. He teamed up with Charlton on court three in doubles, falling 7-5. Oregon clinched the first point after a 6-3 win from Klov-Nilsson/Keremedchiev and a 7-5 victory by Luke Vandecasteele and Vlad Breazu on court two. A new lineup again emerged in singles in the second match of the doubleheader. Spots one through three stayed the same, with Luke Vandecasteele playing on four, Lo on five and Soohoo on six. Charlton swept his match 6-0, 6-0, quickly followed by Luke, who won 6-1, 6-0. With a three-zero lead, Oregon just needed a point to clinch.
Portland State got one back on court six, leaving it 3-1. The clinching point for Oregon soon followed with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 court-two victory. The remaining two matches would be played out, each going the distance. Keremedchiev dropped a point to make it 4-2, Oregon, with Lo's match in the third and final set. Lo picked up the point in the third set, to give the Ducks a 5-2 win, sweeping the day.
