
Oregon Kicks Off Homestand Against Portland

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team returns to the Student Tennis Center, kicking off a five-match homestand Saturday against Portland at 1 p.m.

The Ducks return home after playing in a loaded field at the ITA Kickoff Weekend, held in Stillwater, Okla., where UO fell to host and 14th-ranked Oklahoma State and Kansas last weekend. Â

Oregon is 35-1 all-time against Portland, winning 6-1 in Eugene a season ago. Saturday's matchup will be the sixth in the last seven seasons between the Ducks and Pilots.

The Ducks are led by Sophie Luescher, who has played at the No. 1 singles position in all four matches this season, going 1-0. Misaki Kobayashi also boasts a 1-0 singles record while Uxia Martinez Moral is 2-1.

The doubles tandem of Jo-Yee Chan and Ares Teixido Garcia are 2-0 when paired together, playing at both the No. 2 and No. 3 spots in the lineup. Kobayashi and Martinez Moral are 1-0 this season, as the Ducks are 5-4 overall in doubles.
