Home Stand Continues Friday vs New Mexico

EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon men's tennis team continues its current home stand with a non-conference match Friday evening against New Mexico. First serve is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. (PT) at the UO Student Tennis Center. The Ducks will also host Old Dominion this weekend in a Sunday matchup at 3 p.m.

In the Rankings
On the heels of a top-25 doubles win against UCLA, the UO pair of Ty Gentry and Joshua Charlton are up a spot to No. 10 in the latest release of the Oracle/ITA Division I national rankings. The duo carries a 15-4 record this season including an 8-2 mark in dual play. Individually, Charlton (19-7) checks in at No. 33 in the singles rankings, while junior Emmanuel Coste (9-7) cracks the top 100—at No. 94—for the first time this season.
Last Time Out
The Ducks' upset bid of then-No. 22 UCLA came up just short in a 4-3 loss (March 1) in Eugene. Oregon won the doubles point but the visiting Bruins rallied to win four of six singles matches. The team tallied three ranked wins in the setback.

Career Movement
With a win against UCLA, senior Ty Gentry became the seventh player in program history to reach 70 career doubles victories. The Olympia, Wash., native also tallied his 60th-career singles win with a three-set win against the Bruins. Gentry is currently 10th on the program's combined wins list.

About New Mexico
New Mexico (5-5) had won five-consecutive matches before losing to then-No. 18 Texas Tech in its last outing. Sophomore Facundo Bermejo leads the Lobos with 15 wins in singles play while Raul Dobai and Jake Trondson is the top UNM duo with an 8-5 record. The two teams met last season in Eugene, a 7-0 win for the Ducks.
About Old Dominion
Old Dominion enters the weekend with a 10-2 record, and had a seven-match winning streak before a 4-3 setback to No. 24 Princeton. The Monarchs are led by duo Luca Maldoner and Nicola Vidal, the No. 35 doubles pair in the nation. Maldoner is the reigning C-USA Athlete of the Week. Oregon and ODU have only met once, a 4-1 win for the Ducks in 2016.
