
Scavo Posts Top-10 Finish, Ducks Take Ninth in Phoenix

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Oregon women's golf team wrapped up play at the PING/ASU Invitational on Sunday, finishing ninth among a strong field.
Senior Kathleen Scavo led the way for the Ducks, posting a top-10 finish, tied for eighth, after recording four birdies in the final round.
HOW IT HAPPENED: No. 1 USC used a strong third round to move up two spots and win the tournament at 5-under 859.
After struggling to find her footing in the second round of the Invitational, Kathleen Scavo entered the final 18 holes in Phoenix focused. The senior had a clean scorecard through the entire third round, tallying two birdies on both the front and back nine to shoot 4 under on the day and 3 under overall. Scavo's T8 finish is her second of the spring.
Fellow senior Petra Salko had four bogeys in the final round and one birdie, ending the day at 3 over. However, a solid second-round performance from Salko allowed her to finish T18 at even par.
Alexis Phadungmartvorakul also had a strong showing this weekend, shooting 1 over in each round. At 3 over, the sophomore finished at T26 on the individual leaderboard.
Freshman Simar Singh dropped in an impressive seven birdies in the final round, but a pair of bogeys and double bogeys put her at 1 over on the day and 5 over overall.
