Ducks Grind Out Win Over Fresno State

The Oregon women’s tennis team went 2-0 this weekend after picking up a 4-1 win over Fresno State Sunday.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon women's tennis team picked up a 4-1 win over Fresno State Sunday at the Student Tennis Center to complete an undefeated weekend.
How It Happened: Oregon (3-2) began the afternoon by claiming the doubles point with wins over Fresno State (2-2) at the one and two spots.
The duo of Shweta Sangwan and Rifanty Kahfiani were the first to finish for the Ducks, handily defeating their opponents, 6-1. Daniela Nasser and Paiton Wagner were close behind with a 6-2 victory of their own to give the Ducks a 1-0 edge heading into singles play.
Wagner continued to roll in singles, winning in straight sets, 6-1, 6-0. Kahfiani followed suit with a straight-set victory over her opponent, 6-0, 6-1.
The match came down to Nasser in the number-two spot, fighting her way to a 6-1, 4-6, 6-2 win to secure the victory for the Ducks.
Notable: With her win today, senior Daniela Nasser has 59 career wins, tying Lindsay Bartlett (1981-84) and current teammate Shweta Sangwan for ninth-most career wins in UO history.
