Men's Tennis Ranked No. 15 in ITA Poll

EUGENE, Ore. – On the strength of a 9-1 start including three top-40 wins, the Oregon men's tennis team checks in at No. 15 in the first ITA computer rankings of the season. The Ducks hit the road this weekend for matches at No. 46 Drake and Wisconsin.
Through the first month of the dual season, Oregon has collected wins over No. 17 Minnesota (4-1), No. 41 San Diego (4-3) and No. 44 Louisville (6-1). The team's lone loss came to then-No. 10 Stanford during the ITA Kick-Off Weekend. Since that setback, the Ducks have won six straight and carry and undefeated record (8-0) in home matches.

After the upcoming road trip, the Ducks' next home match is March 7 when they host Middle Tennessee at the Student Tennis Center. The team's conference opener is scheduled for March 9, a home matchup with Washington.
Individually, senior Thomas Laurent is seventh in the latest singles rankings while sophomore Emmanuel Coste is up two spots to No. 78 in the poll. The two Ducks lead the team with 16 wins in singles play this year. Laurent has won 16 of his 19 matches this year with eight wins over ranked opponents. He enters the weekend with 91 career singles wins, two shy of tying the program's career mark.
Further down the lineup, junior Ty Gentry at No. 3 and freshman Joshua Charlton at No. 5 are riding respective win streaks of 10 and eight matches. As a doubles team, Gentry and Charlton are 9-3 this year.
