Olsen’s Win Highlights Day One at UNLV

LAS VEGAS – Freshman Madisen Olsen picked up a sweep to earn her second singles win of the fall to highlight the first day of play for Oregon at the UNLV Invitational Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
How it Happened: Olsen swept through her opening round match against Utah's Madison McKay with a 6-3, 6-4 win for the Ducks' only win of the day. It was the freshman's second singles win of the season, after winning a consolation match at the ITA Northwest Regional last month. Lillian Mould and Taryn Fujimori both lost their singles matches to round out play for the Ducks.
In doubles play, the freshman duo of Mould and Myah Petchey dropped a tight match to Maria Campos and Tallulah Farrow of Colorado, 8-7. Olsen and Fujimori fell in their opening round doubles match, 8-4, to Samantha Li and Connie Li of UNLV.
