Two Doubles Pairs Advance for Ducks

STANFORD, Calif. – A pair of Oregon doubles teams advanced to the round 32 at ITA Regionals Friday at Stanford, while Julia Eshet, Rifanty Kahfiani and Lillian Mould each got to the second round of singles' play before being eliminated.
How it Happened: Kahfiani and Allison Mulville got the day started with a dominant 8-2 win in doubles before Eshet and Mould followed suit, winning their match, 8-4, to move on to round two.
Mould was the first Duck to advance to the round of 64 behind a 6-4, 6-3 first-round victory before Eshet advanced by beating Portland's Jelena Lukic with a thrilling 6-2, 1-6, 7-6 (1) win, taking the first tiebreaker. Kahfiani dominated her opening round match, winning 6-1, 6-0.
Mould dropped a tight opening set in her second round match, falling 7-6 on the seventh tiebreaker, while Eshet took the opening set before dropping the next two to No. 87 Sara Choy of Stanford. Kahfiani won a nail-biter in the opening set against No. 27 Julia Rosenqvist of Cal on the fifth tiebreaker, but dropped the final two sets, losing 6-7 (5), 6-3, 6-0.
