
Santoso Leads Ducks After Two Rounds

AFTER TWO ROUNDS AT THE PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIPS, THE DUCKS ARE IN 10TH AT 50 OVER; CATHLEEN SANTOSO LEADS UO AT 8 OVER IN A TIE FOR 23RD
TUCSON, Ariz. - The Oregon women's golf team sits in ninth place at 50 over through the first two rounds of the Pac-12 Championships, and senior Cathleen Santoso leads the team at 8 over after firing a 3-over 75 on Tuesday at Sewailo Golf Club.
Oregon improved by 10 strokes in the second round from Monday's opening round, firing a 20-over 308. No. 3 UCLA leads the field through the first 36 holes at even-par, and the Bruins boast the top two individuals on the board in Lilia Vu (-7) and Bethany Wu (-3).
How it Happened: Santoso shaved two strokes off her opening-round total to shot a 75 on Tuesday, and enters Wednesday's final round as the top Duck on the individual leaderboard in a tie for 23rd. Santoso was 3 over on her first nine holes in the second round before using three birdies to shoot even across the last nine.
Sophomore Kathleen Scavo was one stroke behind Santoso in the second round, carding a 4-over 76. Scavo also used a good final nine holes to lower her score, recording a pair of birdies on her back nine after leading the team with four birdies on Monday. Scavo is tied for 33rd at 12 over for the tournament.
Senior Marcella Pranovia finished the second round with a 6-over 78, and is tied for 46th overall at 15 over. Sophomore Petra Salko is right with Pranovia on the individual leaderboard at 15 over after shooting a 7-over 79 on Tuesday. Junior Kelsey Ulep rounds out the Oregon lineup at 19 over after an 8-over 80 in the second round.
Notable: Scavo is tied for sixth in the tournament with seven birdies through two rounds … All five Ducks finished Tuesday with at least two birdies … Both Santoso and Ulep were even across their final nine holes.
Up Next: Paired with California and Washington State, the Ducks will begin teeing off on the final round tomorrow at 8:40 a.m. off of hole No. 10.
