No. 20 Bruins Take Down No. 35 Ducks

EUGENE, Ore. – The No. 35 University of Oregon women's tennis team fell to No. 20 UCLA Bruins Friday afternoon at the Student Tennis Center 4-1.
The Ducks move to 8-6 on the season and 2-1 in Pac-12 play, while UCLA is now 7-5 and 1-1 in the conference.
How it Happened: In doubles, Bruins Gabby Andrews and Alaina Miller took to first match against senior Marlou Kluiving and freshman Julia Eshet, 6-1. Ena Shibahara and Kristin Wiley solidified the UCLA's doubles point with a 6-2 win over junior Nia Rose and sophomore Daniela Nasser. Sophomore Shweta Sangwan and junior Alyssa Tobita's match against Jada Hart and Terri Fleming was at 4-4, but went unfinished.
In singles, Nasser earned the Ducks' lone point of the match as Wiley medically retired after Nasser took the first set, 6-1. No. 81 Hart took down Eshet in straight sets 6-0, 6-2 to move the score to 2-1, UCLA. Andrews defeated Kluiving 6-1, 6-4 on court six as the third duo to finish. With the score at 3-1, UCLA solidified their win as Miller won 6-4, 6-3 over Rose.
What it Means: The Ducks and Bruins all-time record moves to 21-0, UCLA.
With her defaulted win today after Kristin Wiley medically retired, Daniela Nasser is 10-5 overall in singles play.
