ITA All-Americans: Junior Thomas Laurent opened the day vying for UO's first ever appearance in the All-American Championship match against UCLA's Martin Redlicki.
The French international fought valiantly, but fell No. 24 Redlicki 6-4, 6-3 to end his historic tournament run.
"I am so proud of what Tom accomplished this week," said head coach Nils Schyllander. "His focus, confidence, and professionalism embodies everything we strive for as a program. It's been a great week."
Boise State Fall Classic: In Idaho, the Ducks looked to make an all Oregon championship with two of the final four doubles teams at the Boise State Dar Walters Fall Classic.
Senior Cormac Clissold and junior Armando Soemarno pushed the Idaho pair of Mark Kovacs and Carlos Longhi Neto to a tiebreaker set, but could not pull out the victory dropping the match 9-8(7).
In Sunday's other semifinal match senior Simon Stevens and sophomore Ty Gentry were able to secure a spot in the championship match with an 8-3 win over Abilene Christian's Paul Domanski and Hunter Holman.
The doubles championship was hotly contested, but Kovacs and Longhi Neto were able to pull out the win over Gentry and Stevens 8-6.
Up Next: With the Ducks first fall action of the year under their belt, the Ducks will now look ahead to the USTA/ITA Northwest Regional Championships in California beginning Thursday (Oct. 19).
