
Ducks Finish Day One at the Pac-12 Championship

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Oregon men's golf team sits tied for seventh after wrapping up the first 36 holes of play at the Pac-12 Championship on Friday.
How It Happened: The Ducks carded a 15-over 370 in the first round of competition at the par-71, 7,209-yard Country Club of Salt Lake Friday, before finishing up the day with a 1-over 356 to move themselves into eighth place heading into moving day. Stanford leads the field at 22-under overall after an impressive 19-under 336 in its second round. California (-17), USC (-7), Arizona State (+1) and Washington (+5) round out the top five after two rounds.
California's K.K. Limbhasut is atop the individual leaderboard after day one at 10-under after a pair of 66's in his first two rounds.
Aaron Wise is the low Duck after one day of play at the Country Club of Salt Lake, currently in 20th at even par after 36 holes. Wise posted a 2-over 73 in his first round, but found a rhythm early in the second, converting three birdies over his first nine holes and finishing strong with two birdies in his final three to card a 69 for his second round.
Freshman Edwin Yi carded a 1-under 70 in his second round to follow up his 74 from Friday morning. After posting six bogeys to only three birdies in his first round, Yi bounced back in his second 18 of the day with four birdies and an eagle on the par-5 18th to get to 2-over overall and move into a tie for 30th.
Also tied for 30th heading into Saturday's third round, junior Thomas Lim fired a 3-under 68 in his second round after struggling a bit in his opening 18 with a 76. Teeing off on the 10th hole, Lim dropped in four birdies over the first nine holes of his second round to get to the turn at 4-under, and after cooling off on the front nine, managed to tie his season-low score of 68.
Sulman Raza carded an even-par 71 in his opening round to position himself in the top 15 midway through the day, but finished off the opening day of play in Salt Lake City with a 74 to sit tied for 33rd entering Saturday's third round.
Nigel Lett turned in a pair of 76's to post an overall score of 10-over after Friday's action and tie himself for 60th. Senior Brandon McIver currently sits in 66th at 12-over after posting a 79 in his first round and a 75 in his second.
