Wise Finishes Second, Ducks Fifth at The Goodwin

STANFORD, Calif. – The Oregon men's golf team finished tied for fifth at The Goodwin behind another strong performance from sophomore Aaron Wise, who finished second.
How It Happened: The Ducks carded a 4-over 284 in Saturday's final round of play at the par-70, 6,727-yard Stanford Golf Course on Saturday afternoon to tally their fifth top-five finish of the season. Overall, Oregon finished with an 8-over 848 to tie with the Stanford B-Team for fifth. UC Davis won the event with a 13-under total.
Aaron Wise wrapped up his weekend with a final-round, 2-under 68. The sophomore finished the event at 9-under with a three-round 201 (66-67-68) to finish in second, one stroke off individual medalist Luke Vivolo of UC Davis. Wise has been amazingly consistent this season, as this weekend's result marks Wise's fifth top-three finish of the season in nine appearances.
Junior Sulman Raza finished the weekend in 41st after a final-round 72 to bring his 54-hole tally to a 6-over 216. Raza was coming off his first career win last week at the Northwest Classic.
After getting to the turn at even par, Brandon McIver recorded four bogeys over the final nine holes to end up with a 74. McIver finished with a 7-over 217 for the weekend to tie for 50th.
Zach Foushee recorded an even-par 70 to finish tied for 59th with at 8-over. After opening his round with three bogeys over the first six holes, Foushee drained three straight birdies on the seventh, eighth and ninth to get back on track. The senior managed to improve on his score every day of the event, turning in a 75-73-70 card.
Nigel Let struggled Saturday, shooting a 77 for his final round to end the event at 12-over in a tie for 82nd.

Up Next: After a week that saw Oregon compete in two tournaments, the Ducks will have a couple of weeks off before they head to Santa Cruz, Calif., for the Western Collegiate, set to begin on April 11. It will serve as the team's final tune-up before competing in the Pac-12 Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the end of the month.
