Ducks Sweep Day One at Georgia State Invitational

ATLANTA, Ga. - The Oregon women's tennis team went 9-0 on the first day of the Georgia State Invitational at Piedmont Park.
How It Happened: For the second straight week, the Ducks swept their first round of tournament doubles play match-ups.
The Ducks' duo of senior Marlou Kluiving and freshman Julia Eshet, who last week matched the program advancement by reaching the ITA Northwest Regionals quarterfinals, defeated Muminovic/Rense of Georgia State, 6-3.
Junior Alyssa Tobita and sophomore Shweta Sangwan bested GSU's Kamoe/Ramirez, 6-2.
Sophomore Daniela Nasser and Nia Rose won 6-1 over Panthers Grosheva/Vovk.
In singles play, the Ducks went head-to-head with Middle Tennessee and swept the board.
Both Kluiving and Sangwan won in two sets, 6-2, 6-2, over Lidia Burrows and Costanza Magazzini, respectively. Tobita bested Alory Pereira 7-6(4),6-2. Rose defeated Maria Zehnder 6-3,6-3. With a final score of 6-4,6-3, Eshet won over Marta Peris and Nasser won 6-3,7-5 against Luisa Zirilli.
What it Means: This is the second week and second consecutive tournament in which the Ducks swept their doubles matches.
With the wins in singles play, the Ducks were perfect on the day.

Looking Ahead: The Ducks will continue action at the Georgia State Invitational tomorrow with doubles beginning at 10:00 a.m. and singles will start at noon.
