10/26/15 | Men's Tennis
HOW IT HAPPENED: On the final day of tournament, Maasland faced off with Stanford's David Wilczynski in the singles semifinals. After being tied at 2-all in the first set, Wilczynski started to pull ahead and eventually won the set 6-3. The Cardinal sophomore continued that momentum into the second set, jumping out to an early lead that he wouldn't relinquish, eventually winning the set 6-2.
Maasland advanced onto the semifinals after a huge win in yesterday's quarterfinals over No. 92 Jake Douglas of Washington. The senior won that match 6-3, 5-7, 6-2.
UP NEXT: The Ducks will have only a few days to recover and practice this week before heading to Las Vegas for the Easley Memorial. Play runs Friday-Sunday on the campus of UNLV.
