Ducks Stumble 4-3 at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Oregon women's tennis team dropped a close match 4-3 to Purdue on Friday afternoon at the Basham Courts inside the Schwartz Tennis Center. The Ducks fall to 5-5 on the season while Purdue improves to a program best 8-0 start.
Purdue won the doubles point and took the first three singles matches. With the dual win out of reach, the Ducks kept focus and rallied to win the final three singles matches.
Freshman Julie Metzger continued her strong rookie campaign, with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles. She also teamed with Sabine Fuchs for an 8-3 at No. 2 doubles.
The Ducks stay in Big-10 country to play Indiana tomorrow and Ohio State on Sunday.
