Ducks Beat Cougars, 6-1, on Sunday

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon women's tennis team won five of six singles matches and secured the doubles point on Sunday afternoon to defeat visiting Houston, 6-1, in dual competition inside the Oregon Tennis Complex.
Oregon used strong play at the top of its singles line-up to put away Houston. The No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 singles matches were all decided in dominating fashion. Carmen Seremeta won at No. 1 - 6-2, 6-1, Ana Cecilia Olivos was victorious at No. 2 - 6-1, 6-2, and Pavlina Smatova pulled out her match at No. 3 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
Freshman Madelie Janse van Rensburg lost her first set at No. 4 singles, 2-6, but battled back to win the next two sets in decisive fashion, 6-1, 6-2 to finish off the day with a win for the Ducks.
