PORTLAND, Ore. - Despite a career-high five three-pointers from Oregon guard Micaela Cocks, the Ducks fell, 74-59, to Georgia Tech on Saturday afternoon at the Rose Garden Arena.
Oregon falls to 3-4 on the year, while Georgia Tech, currently receiving 79 votes in the Associated Press Top-25 poll, improves to 8-2.
The Yellow Jackets were led by Alex Montgomery's 18 points, while Jacqua Williams added 16.
Cocks led the Ducks with 17 points, while Nicole Canepa, in her first start of the season, chipped in 13.
Oregon shot a season-high tying 50.0 percent from the floor, but couldn't overcome a season-high tying 27 turnovers.
The Yellow Jackets scored 37 of their points off Oregon's turnovers, and outscored the Ducks 34-22 in the paint.
The Ducks also lost the battle under the basket, being outrebounded 31-21, including surrendering 16 offensive rebounds to Georgia Tech.
Junior guard Taylor Lilley returned to the lineup for Oregon for the first time this season.
Oregon will next play at Marquette on Wednesday with tip scheduled for 10 a.m. PST.
Notes: Oregon was without Rita Kollo (2-4 weeks, broken right foot) for the seventh game of the season...this was the Ducks fourth game in a span of six against teams that made the 2008 postseason; South Dakota State (WNIT), Wyoming (NCAA), Montana (NCAA), Georgia Tech (NCAA), Marquette (WNIT champion), Baylor (NCAA)...Oregon is 1-3 in those games...the Ducks used their fourth starting lineup of the season.
