
Ducks Shoot Down Pilots, Win 5-2

PORTLAND, -- Oregon on the strength of solid doubles play and great performances from the top of their lineup knocked off the Portland Pilots, Tuesday in Portland, winning 5-2.
The Ducks improve to 5-0 on the season with the victory.
Schiller was solid in singles play as well winning the first set of his match against Redpath, 6-1. He was leading 4-0 in the second when Redpath retired. Spencer had a close first set against Rowan, winning 7-6 in a tiebreaker, before rolling through the second set of his match, 6-1.
Thomas Bieri playing at the top of the line up had a tough three-set match against Loucks. Loucks won the first set, 6-4. Bieri fought back in the second winning, 6-4, before running through the third set and winning the set, 6-2 to win the match.
Myrhed was also in a three-setter as he got behind Strom early and fell 6-3 in the first set. He was able to turn it around in the second set winning, 6-2. Myrhed then stormed through the third set winning, 6-1.
The Ducks suffered their first loss of the day at the number five position when Kincaid swept past Freitas, 7-6, 6-2. Wrapping up the match was Eric Pickard's loss to Kennel in straight sets as he fell 6-4, 7-5.
