
UCLA Spoils Senior Day at Mac Court

Lindsey Pluimer scored 17 points and Nikki Blue had nine points and eight assists for the Bruins (17-10, 12-6 Pac-10), who shot 48 percent from the field.

Senior guard Brandi Davis scored 15 points and Carolyn Ganes had 14 points - all in the second half - for the Ducks (14-14, 5-13), who closed out the regular season on a five-game losing skid to finish in eighth place in the Pac-10.
After playing just two minutes in the first half, Ganes scored nine straight points for Oregon, bringing the Ducks within 49-47 on a 3-pointer with 9:59 to go.
“I got the opportunity to go out, and I got good looks,” Ganes said. “My teammates helped.”

Quinn made one of two free-throw attempts with 22 seconds left, putting the Bruins ahead 64-62.

Pluimer then sank a pair of free throws to put the Bruins up four.
Pluimer had 13 points on 6-for-6 shooting in the first half.
“I think the difference in the game was they shot the ball a little better than us and also offensive rebounds,” Smith said.
