
Oregon Volleyball off to Best Start in 32 years, Beats Fresno State

The Ducks (10-1, 0-0 Pac-10) also beat Fresno State (2-8, 0-0 WAC) on Friday night, and the Oregon football team took care of the No. 23 Bulldogs on Saturday, 37-34, completing the trifecta. But more importantly for UO's volleyball side, the Ducks record after 11 matches is their best since a 10-0-1 start in 1973.
First-year head coach Jim Moore's team was beaten in a marathon Game 1, 38-36, before bouncing back with convincing wins of 30-21, 30-24 and 30-19.
Freshman libero Katie Swoboda had a career-high and team season-high 31 digs, and junior Kristen Bitter had her second strong match in as many nights, hammering home 16 kills and hitting a match-high .393 to pace the Ducks.
Senior Kelly Russell recorded her second consecutive double-double with 15 kills and 15 digs. Fellow hitter, freshman Mira Djuric, led the
