10/28/05 | Women's Volleyball
The Ducks (11-11, 1-10 Pac-10) fell to .500 overall for the first time in 2005, while Cal (14-6, 7-4) bounced back from a five-game upset against Oregon State on Thursday.
The Bears were the dominant side in terms of attacking efficiency, out-hitting Oregon, .308 to .109. The Ducks also helped their opponent by committing 22 attack errors and 12 service errors.
UO was led by senior hitter Jaclyn Jones, who posted a team-high nine kills. Junior Stephanie Alleman, filling in for injured freshman libero Katie Swoboda, posted a match-high 17 digs.
Junior blocker Kristen Bitter had eight kills and led the Ducks with a .316 hitting mark.
Oregon freshman Mira Djuric (six kills) was held to less than ten kills for only the second time in 22 matches this season. She still managed to lead the squad in scoring with 9.5 points, thanks to a pair of aces and 1.5 blocks.
Cal was paced by senior Alicia Powers and sophomore Angie Pressey, who had 11 kills apiece.
The Ducks return home to McArthur Court on Thursday, Nov. 3, to take on USC. Oregon plays six of its final eight matches at home.
