EUGENE, Ore. - Loree Payne scored 24 points, and Kellie Dalan added 23 as No. 23 Washington snapped a 10-game losing streak at McArthur Court with a 75-59 victory Saturday over Oregon.
Washington (20-6, 12-4 Pac-10) had lost three straight on the road, including a 100-86 setback Thursday night to Oregon State.
The Ducks (11-14, 7-9), coming off an 82-52 victory over Washington State on Thursday, were sunk early with just 19 percent shooting in the first half, and they never fully recovered.
"Our inside game wasn't working and weren't getting the ball inside and out," Oregon coach Bev Smith said. "So we just panicked and started to shoot from outside.
"We ran into a very good Washington team tonight. They're a team that does a very good job of mixing things up defensively."
Kedzie Gunderson hit a pair of free throws midway through the second half to bring the Ducks within 50-40, but Dalan responded with a short jumper and Payne hit a 3-pointer for the Huskies.
Andrea Lalum's 3-pointer with 5:18 to go gave Washington a 68-47 lead - its biggest of the game.
Washington appeared sluggish at the start, and held an 18-16 lead with 5:25 to go in the first half after Oregon's Brandi Davis hit a 3-pointer.
But Dalan and Payne took over, and the Huskies began a 16-4 run capped by Dalan's 3-pointer with a little more than a minute left to put Washington ahead 34-20.
"Dalan really hurt us," Smith said. "On the inside she hurt us and on the outside, too."
The Huskies shot 42.4 percent for the first half to take a 38-23 lead at the break.
For the game, Oregon shot a season-low 31 percent from the floor, while the Huskies shot 42 percent overall.
Andrea Bills had 14 points and eight rebounds for Oregon, while Cathrine Kraayeveld, making her second start since returning from a mysterious staph infection in her right knee, added 11 points and seven rebounds.
Kraayeveld missed 13 games with the knee infection, which hospitalized her for five days.
"We were well prepared for the game," Kraayeveld said. "We just didn't go out and do what we needed to do. The Huskies came and wanted to win. They played really hard ... and really smart tonight."
Washington's last win at Mac Court was on Jan. 23, 1993.
Oregon, which dropped into a tie for sixth place with USC, next travels to play the Women of Troy on Thursday at 7 p.m. and UCLA on Saturday at 2 p.m.
"Our destiny is in our own hands," Smith said. "We have to go down and play well against ULCA and USC."
