Tony Stubblefield returned to the Oregon staff prior to the 2024-25 season.
Stubblefield most recently spent three seasons as head coach at DePaul from 2021-24, after spending the previous 11 seasons on Coach Altman’s Oregon staff. The Ducks have reached eight NCAA Tournaments, including five Sweet 16s, two Elite Eights and a Final Four with Stubblefield on staff.
During his tenure, Stubblefield has helped Oregon assemble four recruiting classes that were ranked among the top 12 nationally (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019). Included in those classes were future NBA players Troy Brown Jr., Louis King, Bol Bol, Payton Pritchard and Chris Duarte.
Prior to joining the staff in 2010, Stubblefield spent four years as recruiting coordinator for the University of Cincinnati and six seasons as assistant coach at New Mexico State from 2000-2005. Stubblefield got into coaching at his alma mater, Omaha, in 1993 and also saw stops at UTSA and UT Arlington before landing at New Mexico State.
Stubblefield spent two years playing at Clinton (Iowa) Community College from 1989-91, before transferring to Omaha where he served as team captain. He attended Bloomfield (Colo.) High School and was named All-State and County Player of the Year as a senior.
