Coach Arendsen says ? "Heather is one of the hardest working players on this team. She is a great third catcher for us, prepares our pitchers well and truly enjoys her role. She is a tremendous team player who provides great energy and is willing to do anything that will help this team."
2003 ? One of the vocal leaders for the Ducks, Munson stepped onto the field in just three games, but her presensce as a team player and bull pen catcher were much more important to Oregon’s attitude and success. Did make the most of her opportunities, going 1-for-2 with an RBI vs. Florida A&M Feb. 8. Also had four putouts from behind the plate in the game. Suffered a thumb injury during the season and was forced to miss the latter half of the year.
High School ? Lettered three seasons in softball and also participated in volleyball at Reynolds high school. Was on the national honor society all four years. Three year captain of softball team. Earned team’s Most Inspirational award twice in her career. Three-time honorable mention all-state honoree.
Personal ? Born December 18, 1981 in Portland, Ore. Parents are David and Denise Munson. Two brothers, Ryan and Derek. One sister, Erica. Major: Psychology.
