The Women of Oregon won the team title at the Mike Johnson Classic in Monmouth, Ore.

EUGENE, Ore. – Senior All-American Juliet Cherubet set a course and meet record Saturday at the Mike Johnson Classic in Monmouth, Ore. Collectively, the Women of Oregon put five runners in the top eight including a sweep of the top-four spots in the team's season opener.

Cherubet posted a winning time of 18:36.7 to take nearly a minute off the previous Ash Creek Preserve course record set by Stanford's Fiona O'Keeffe (19:32) at the 2019 Pac-12 Championships. The top four also featured UO newcomer Ava Parekh as the runner-up in 20:15, and Landen LeBlond (20:37.3) and Kendall Martin (20:44.2) in third and fourth place, respectively.

Samantha McDonnell rounded out the Ducks' scoring five with an eighth-place finish.

Tayson Echohawk finished eighth overall at the Cowboy Jamboree and Juan Gonzalez, in his cross debut for the Ducks, added a top-20 performance to lead the men's showing in Stillwater. Echohawk, an All-Big Ten performer last season, produced an 8K time of 23:49.8 on the Greiner Family Course while Gonzalez crossed in 24:11.2 to finish in 16^th place.

Echohawk was also the Ducks' top finisher at last year's Cowboy Jamboree and improved on a 16^th-place result (24:12.1) in 2025.

Saturday's race also marked the debuts for UO freshmen Jayden Warner (25:00.1) and Quentin Nauman (25:12.6) in 43^rd and 52^nd place, respectively. The Ducks finished sixth with 162 points in the team race.

The men's 8K at the Cowboy Jamboree was originally scheduled for a 6:45 a.m. PT start but was delayed until 8:05 a.m. due to inclement weather in the area.
