
Ducks Dominate Huskies in Seattle

SEATTLE — The Oregon Ducks secured a 4-1 victory over the Washington Huskies on Saturday, powered by a strong showing in singles play.
Oregon (13-3) fell behind early as Washington (7-10) claimed the doubles point, winning two of three matches. The Ducks' tandem of Matthew Burton and Pierre Mouesca earned a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles, but Washington responded with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions to take a 1-0 lead.
The Ducks quickly flipped the momentum in singles.Matthew Burton evened the match with a commanding 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles, and Vlad Breazu followed with a 6-3, 6-3 victory at the top spot to give Oregon a 2-1 edge. Russell Soohoo extended the lead with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 6.
Pierre Mouesca clinched the match for Oregon at No. 2 singles, rallying after dropping the first set to defeat Stephane Kamendje 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 (7-4).
Two matches went unfinished, with Oregon leading in both. Sam Olszakowski was tied in the third set at No. 3 singles, and Lachlan Robertson held a late advantage at No. 5 when play was halted.
Oregon won four of the six singles matches to secure the victory.
