Senior Day Wins Over Portland

The Ducks picks up wins No. 8 and 9 with a sweep of Friday’s doubleheader.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team celebrated Senior Day with a pair of home wins over Portland at the Grace Community Fellowship courts in Eugene. The Ducks move to 9-10 this season and have now won 21 straight against their in-state rival dating back to the 2018 season.
In the opener, the Ducks' top three all had to rally from a set down including a victory by AJ Slojkowski and Hanna Bjornson—26-28, 21-16, 15-13—at No. 2 pairs. The result doubled as the 15th-career victory for Slojkowski and gave Oregon the 2-0 match lead.
The home team clinched the first match of the day with Natasha George and Josie Griffiths' straight-set win at the No. 5 spot in the lineup.
George and Landree Coats teamed up for an all-senior win for the first point of the second match with Daley McClellan and Elsa Snipes picking up their second three-set win of the day for the 2-0 advantage. Bjornson and Sofia Taylor collected the Ducks' third point to clinch team win no. 2 with a 21-14, 21-12 scoreline.
Kendall Clark and Skylar Kelly, who played an exhibition match earlier, were moved up to No. 5 pairs in the UO lineup and came away with a straight-set win. At the top of the lineup, Bella Gamache and Liz Rossi sealed their second win of the day with strong serving in the second set, and completed the 5-0 sweep.
In the second match, Mia Komsky and Alex Kriz had a 21-16, 21-11 exhibition win for the Ducks.
