EUGENE, Ore. - The Big Ten Conference announced on Thursday that Oregon women's golf freshman Celina Yeo has been selected as the Big Ten Golfer of the Week and the Big Ten Freshman of the Week.Â
Yeo placed second overall at the Windy City Classic earlier this week, finishing as one of just three players in the field to shoot under par at 4 under. The freshman was stellar throughout the 36-hole day to open the tournament on Monday, firing a 3-under 68 and a 4-under 67 to take a two-stroke lead into the final round.
Yeo shot 3 over in the final round to place second, behind only Virginia's Jaclyn LaHa (-7).Â
A San Francisco native, Yeo led the Windy City Classic field with 12 total birdies and was also the top performer on par-5 holes at 5-under par.Â
Yeo's second-place finish is the best individual showing by a Duck so far this season, and she is the first Oregon player to earn a weekly conference honor in 2026-27.Â
