Yeo Sweeps Big Ten Awards After Runner-Up Finish
Celina Yeo put together the best performance of her young career the last time the Ducks took the course, and the freshman was rewarded for her efforts. Yeo swept the Big Ten Golfer of the Week and Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors after finishing as the individual runner-up at the Windy City Classic at 4-under par. Yeo was the 36-hole leader after dazzling with a 3-under 68 and a 4-under 67 on the first day of action, and then finished as one of just three players in the field to shoot under par on her way to sweeping the weekly conference awards. Yeo led all players with 12 total birdies and also led in par-5 scoring at 5 under. Junior Tong An continued her hot fall with her third straight top-10 finish, tying for 10th at 3 over, as the Ducks finished fourth in the 12-team field at 12 over.Â
An Leads Ducks Again At Stephens Cup
Oregon placed third in stroke play at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup last month, and the Ducks were led for the second tournament in a row by junior Tong An. An has shot par-or-better in all six rounds to kick off 2026-27, going 71-71-72 to place fifth individually at the Stephens Cup for her second straight top-five finish. Sophomore Shyla Singh put together Oregon's best round of the week with a 4-under 68 in the opening round en route to tying for eighth overall at 1 over, and sophomore Trinity Beth tied for 11th overall at 4 over. Freshman Prim Prachnakorn tied for 17th overall (+7) in her collegiate debut, and she picked up Oregon's lone point in the third-place match against Texas in her first taste of collegiate match play.Â
Top-Three Finish In Season Opener
Playing in their first tournament since three-time, first-team all-American Kiara Romero left for the LPGA, the Ducks came away with a top-three finish against a strong field at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate last week to open the 2026-27 season. All five players in Oregon's lineup shot par-or-better in the second round to move UO into second place with an 8-under 280, and another solid showing in the final round secured third place for the Ducks. Junior Tong An, an all-Big Ten first-team selection last season, led the way in a tie for fifth overall at 2-under par while shooting par-or-better in all three rounds, and freshman Celina Yeo tied for 11th at even par in her collegiate debut. Sophomore Shyla Singh was just one stroke back of Yeo at 1 over to tie for 15th, and sophomore Trinity Beth gave Oregon four players in the top 25 in a tie for 22nd at 2 over. Junior Annika Ishiyama struggled in the first and third rounds but put together the best round by a Duck all week with a 3-under 69 in the second round, helping Oregon move up the leaderboard. It was UO's fourth straight top-three finish at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate after placing second in each of the last three seasons.Â
