
Successful Day of Qualifying in Tokyo

Jorinde van Klinken advances to Sunday’s final of the women’s discus.
EUGENE, Ore. – Jorinde van Klinken had the second-farthest throw in the qualification round of the women's discus. On her first—and only—toss of the competition, she had a measure of 66.39m/217-9 which surpassed the auto qualifier (64.00 meters) and secured her spot in Sunday's final (3:12 a.m. PT, Peacock).
Van Klinken is also entered in the shot put alongside former UO teammate Jaida Ross.
In the heats of the women's 1500 meters, Oregon alum Susan Lokayo Ejore, Jessica Hull and Klaudia Kazimierska all ran to top-six automatic qualifiers in their respective heats. Ejore turned in the third-fastest time in the round with a 4:01.99. Hull and Kazimierska posted times of 4:04.40 and 4:07.34, respectively. Only the top six in each heat advanced.
The semifinal round of the event is scheduled for Sunday at 5:07 a.m. PT.
Nikki Hiltz, who began at Oregon before finishing their collegiate career at Arkansas, also advanced in the 1500 meters. Hiltz clocked a time of 4:01.73, just ahead of Ejore in heat three.
