
Rogers Advances to USATF 800 Final

Jenna Prandini, English Gardner finished eight and ninth in the women’s 100 meters.
EUGENE, Ore. — Raevyn Rogers is into the finals of the women's 800 meters, thanks to her qualifying effort on day two of the 2025 Toyota USATF Championships at Hayward Field. Friday's highlights also included Jenna Prandini and English Gardner advancing to the 100-meter final.
Running in the second of three heats, Rogers clocked a time of 1:58.78 to secure an on-time qualifier into Sunday's final (1:18 p.m. PT, NBC). She finished third in her semifinal and sixth overall. She has a season's best of 1:58.49 from last month's Prefontaine Classic.
Rogers is a three-time World qualifier (2019, '22-23) with a runner-up finish in 2019.
In the last race of the night, Prandini and Gardner were eighth and ninth, respectively, in the 100 final. Prandini finished in 11.11 with Gardner crossing in 11.17. The race was Gardner's first USA final since 2019. The final nearly featured three past UO standouts with Jadyn Mays just missing out on advancing with her time of 11.15 in the semifinals, .01 shy of the last spot.
Melissa Jefferson-Wooden won the national title in 10.65, a time tied for the fifth fastest ever run.
Prandini, Mays and Kyree King—a semifinalist in the men's 100—are all slated to return for the 200 which will be contested over two rounds Sunday.
Damarcus Simpson, a two-time Pac-12 champion in the long jump during his UO career, finished 10th with a day's best of 7.81m/25-7.5 on his third and final attempt of the day.
Day Three UO Schedule
The USATF Outdoor Championships will serve as the selection event for the upcoming World Athletics Championships (Sept. 13-21, Tokyo) and NACAC Area Championships (Aug. 15-17, Bahamas).
