Seven Ducks Honored on NFCA All-Region Teams

EUGENE, Ore. – For the second straight year, seven Ducks were named to the NFCA All-Region teams that were announced Thursday.
Four were named to the first team: pitchers Lyndsey Grein and Elise Sokolsky, first baseman Rylee McCoy and outfielder Kedre Luschar. It is the first time four Ducks appeared on the first team since 2018.
Shortstop Paige Sinicki, outfielder Kai Luschar and designated player Stefini Ma'ake made the second team.
Sinicki and Kai Luschar were recognized for the second year in a row, while the other five Ducks were All-Region selections for the first time in their careers.
Grein was recently named a USA Softball Player of the Year Top 10 finalist, while McCoy is an NFCA Freshman of the Year Top 10 finalist.
All five Duck batters on the teams are hitting .338 or better on the season. Kedre Luschar leads the team at .458, followed by Kai Luschar (.404), McCoy (.396), Sinicki (.371) and Ma'ake (.338). McCoy leads the team in home runs (17) and RBI (52), while Kai Luschar leads in the NCAA in steals with 54.
Grein in second in the NCAA in wins and is 26-2 on the season with a 1.93 earned run average and 194 strikeouts. Sokolsky is 15-3 on the year with a 2.07 ERA and 124 strikeouts.
Oregon hosts the NCAA Eugene Regional that begins Friday at Jane Sanders Stadium. Stanford and Binghamton meet in the first game at 2 p.m. Sixteenth-seeded Oregon faces Weber State in the 4:30 p.m. game.
