The Ducks are off to the Husky Invitational (April 11-12) next weekend.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team picked up its second sweep of the weekend with its 5-0 win over Portland at the Grace Community Fellowship Courts. The Ducks improve to 5-12 and have now won its last 18 meetings with the Pilots.
Skylar Kelly and Isabel Patterson got the team on the board with a straight-set win at No. 4 pairs. Over on court two, Landree Coats and Daley McClellan were locked in a back-and-forth with the UP team of Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson. The teams split the first two sets but the Ducks prevailed 17-15 in the third to grab the second point of the day.
At No. 5 pairs, Natasha George and Liz Rossi extended their winning streak to five in a row. The 21-15, 21-13 result clinched the overall dual. Gwen Fife and Kamilah Checani took the first set on court three (21-17) and pushed the Ducks' lead to 4-0 after a forfeit before the start of the second.
The final court in play featured Bella Gamache and Ella Tyus at No. 1 pairs against Portland's Annika Stammberger and Emily Wood. The Ducks' top pair made it a clean sweep with a 21-9, 21-13 effort.
