With his effort, Aidan Elbettar moved to No. 8 on the UO all-time discus list.
EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon senior Aidan Elbettar moved to eighth on the Oregon all-time list in the discus Saturday with his performance at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif. On his second attempt, he got the disc out to a season's best 59.11m/193-11 to finish fourth overall, and second among collegians.
Elbettar's effort comes just a day after initially cracking the UO top 10 with a toss of 58.29m/191-3 at the Battle at the Beach in Long Beach. Redshirt freshman Kobe Lawrence was eighth in Saturday's field with his lifetime best of 56.15m/184-2.
Sam Mattis and Reggie Jagers of Nike went 1-2 in the Triton discus, respectively, and Racquil Broderick of USC was third.
In another successful outing for the Oregon throws crew, Josephine Krohn won the javelin at the Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational in McMinnville, Ore. She finished with a best of 45.83m/150-4, good for her farthest throw since establishing her lifetime best (46.09m/151-2) at the 2023 Oregon Twilight.
