Pair of Ranked Losses in Weekend Finale

Oregon next competes at the MPSF Mid-Season Rumble (March 7-8) at Stanford.
TUCSON, Ariz. – The Oregon beach volleyball team dropped a pair of duals Saturday to No. 11 Arizona State and No. 20 Stetson to close out its weekend at the Cactus Classic in Tucson, Ariz. With the result, the Ducks fall to 3-4 though the first two weeks of the 2025 season.

1: Kensinger/Williamson (ASU) def. Gamache/Tyus (ORE) – 21-16, 21-16
2. McElroy/Pemberton (ASU) def. Coats/Slojkowski (ORE) – 18-21, 21-11, 15-11
3. Clement/Kirunchyk (ASU) def. George/Rossi (ORE) – 14-21, 21-11, 15-13
4. Haughty/Whitmarsh (ASU) def. Bjornson/Kelly (ORE) – 21-12, 21-14
5. Snipes/Thomas (ASU) def. Clark/McCaskill (ORE) – 21-10, 21-17
Order of Finish: 1, 4, 5, 2, 3
The 11th-ranked Sun Devils posted sweeps on courts one, four and five to clinch the morning dual but Oregon won the first sets at No. 2 and 3 pairs with eyes on picking up a pair of points. However, both ASU teams responded with 21-11 wins in set two before going on to win back-and-forth third sets on each court.
Freshman Hanna Bjornson, playing alongside Skylar Kelly, made her debut in the top-five lineup.

Bella Gamache and Ella Tyus won the first set against the Hatters' No. 1 duo of Katie Camp and Maria Ozaeta but couldn't hold on to the advantage in a three-set loss. It was the final match in play during Saturday afternoon's dual. Stetson capped the 5-0 win with a 21-23, 21-12, 15-9 result in the top spot.
