
Four Ducks in Peru for U20 Worlds

The five-day meet begins Tuesday at Estadio Atletico de la Videna in Lima.
EUGENE, Ore. – A summer of track and field continues for a group of Ducks at the World Athletics U20 Championships Lima 24 in Peru. Current standouts Katie Clute and Lakely Doht-Barron will be joined by Oregon signees Isabel Conde De Frankenberg and Ben Smith. The five-day meet will be held at Estadio Atletico de la Videna in Lima.
Clute is entered in two events, both the 3,000 meters and 3,000 steeplechase. She won both events at the USATF U20 Championships and set a meet record of 10:02.03 in the steeplechase. Doht-Barron was sixth in the U20 400 meters in June and will run as part of Team USA's 4x400 relay.
Conde De Frankenberg, representing Argentina, will compete at 800 meters with possible relay duties in the mixed and women's 4x400 relays. Smith was the USATF U20 champion in the shot put which begins Tuesday morning with qualifying; the final will take place later that afternoon.
The 2024 World Athletics U20 Championships (Aug. 27-31) will be broadcast on Peacock throughout the week with additional coverage on CNBC on days four and five.
