EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team has bolstered its 2024-25 roster with the signings of transfers AJ Slojkowski, Kamilah Checani and Alex Kriz.
Slojkowski joins the Ducks after a WCC All-Freshman Team campaign at Saint Mary's. She appeared in 32 of 35 matches and put together a 16-16 record playing primarily at No. 3 and 4 pairs in the Gaels' lineup. Her first-career victory came in a three-set win against Santa Clara. Slojkowski had seven wins over WCC opponents including a sweep against Portland in the conference tournament.
The El Dorado Hills, Calif., native prepped at Ponderosa High School where she was a two-time all-league selection in both basketball and volleyball.
Checani comes to Eugene after three seasons at Grand Canyon. The Gilbert, Ariz., native made her debut in the GCU top-five lineup this past March against Arizona State, playing at No. 5 pairs. Checani played at the No. 6 exhibition spot for Grand Canyon in 2023. As an all-region performer for Highland High School, Checani averaged 5.7 digs per set for the indoor team as a senior.
Kriz began her collegiate career at UC Davis. She did not compete during her freshman year and comes to Oregon with four years of eligibility remaining. During the final two seasons of her prep career, Kriz amassed 503 kills and 376 digs for Round Rock (TX) Westwood High School and helped the team to the regional quarterfinals as a senior. Kriz is a native of Austin, Texas.
The trio is the latest addition to the UO roster, joining fellow transfer Gwen Fife (Eugene, Ore.) who is set for a homecoming after beginning her collegiate career at Utah.
