Ducks Fall to Ranked Foes in Seattle

Oregon hosts Bushnell this Tuesday, April 9, for Senior Day.
SEATTLE, Wash. – The Oregon beach volleyball team lost a pair of duals to ranked opponents Saturday at the Pac-12 North Invitational, falling to No. 12 Arizona State and No. 13 Washington.

The Sun Devils took an early 2-0 lead with sweeps at the No. 2 and 4 spots, posting 21-16 scores in the final set of both duals. Arizona State clinched the dual at the 3's spot in the lineup with Taryn Ames and Lexi Sweeney taking a tightly contested second set to beat Landree Coats and Bella Gamache (21-9, 21-19).

Weekend host Washington opened the dual with wins at No. 5 and 2 pairs, respectively, and clinched at the top spot—21-16, 22-20—despite a push from Daley McClellan and Alina Valenti to force a third. The Ducks found themselves in a third set with Coats and Gamache on court three. The pair lost the opening set but responded with a 21-18 win in the second but came up short in set three.
