Ducks Defeat Huskies for Pac-12 Win

EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon men's tennis team defeated the Washington Huskies 4-2 on Saturday for a conference win.
Quinn Vandecasteele and Matthew Burton set the tone for Oregon, earning a win over Washington's No. 59 pair Cesar Bouchelagahem and Dzianis Zharyn on court one. Avi Shugar and Vlad Breazu teamed up on court three to secure the doubles point, defeating Heman Nama and Ivan Sodan.
On the singles courts, Ray Lo was first to finish with a straight set win against Brett Pearson of the Huskies, putting the Ducks up 2-0.
David Cierny fell on court two, but freshman Lenn Luemkemann went 6-3, 6-3 against Ivan Sodan to extend the Oregon lead.
Burton gave up the first set to Washington's Nedim Suko, fought back to win the second, but ultimately lost in three.
On court one, Vandecasteele narrowly lost his first set 6-7, but came back to win the second 7-6. He was leading the third set 4-1 when the match was completed.
Breazu split sets 4-6 and 6-4 on court three. For the second week in a row, he solidified the victory for UO with a 6-4 win in his third set.
The Ducks will close out their homestead against the Arizona schools next weekend to end the regular season.
