Ducks Fall to Bruins
04/15/23 | Men's Tennis
LOS ANGELES – Oregon men's tennis dropped today's match 4-0 to UCLA in Los Angeles.
Oregon started strong and took the first doubles match, a 6-3 win from Ivailo Keremedchiev and Jesper Klov-Nilsson on court two. The No. 39 ranked Bruins needed the next two courts to go their way, and consecutive 7-5 wins on courts one and three gave them just that. UCLA would take a 1-0 lead into singles.
A couple of straight-set wins for UCLA made the whole deeper, as Quinn Vandecasteele fell 7-5, 6-2, while Ray Lo returned from injury and was defeated 6-0, 6-2. Keremedchiev and Klov-Nilsson were each up a set and battling in the second when the match was decided. Josh Charlton was defeated 6-3, 6-3 and the clinching point was secured for the Bruins.
Oregon returns home next weekend, facing Cal on Friday and Stanford on Sunday for Senior Day versus Stanford.
