Road Swing Continues at Queens Cup

The Ducks' five-match schedule in Hawaii begins Friday against No. 14 Washington.
EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon beach volleyball team continues its recent road swing with a trip to Hawaii for the three-day Queens Cup. The Ducks are set for five matches including three against ranked teams, beginning with Friday's opener at 1:30 p.m. (PT) against No. 14 Washington.

Last Time Out
The Ducks suffered a 5-0 setback to then-No. 16 Washington in their finale at the Pac-12 South Invite in Los Angeles. Oregon (2-7) pushed UW to three sets at No. 2 and 4 pairs but fell just short of recording a point, losing 15-12 in the third on both courts.
Leading the Way
Through nine matches, the UO pair of Ella Tyus and Bea Wetton have a team-high five wins playing in the No. 2 spot in the lineup. The duo picked up a dual point against #17 Arizona last weekend, beating Abby Russell and Hope Shannon in three sets. Individually, the victory was the 30th of Wetton's career.
Scouting the Field
The Ducks' opponents this weekend enter the Queens Cup with 24-10 combined record, not including Texas which open its inaugural season Friday. Washington (4-4) features the pair of Chloe Loreen and Natalie Robinson that is 7-1 in the Huskies' No. 1 spot. Nebraska and host Hawaii both have seven wins and Cal is 6-2 overall with its only losses coming to top-10 teams LMU and USC.
What's Next
The Queens Cup marks the midpoint of the Ducks' three-consecutive road weekends. The team plays in San Jose next week before a March 23 home date with Corban. All home matches are free to the public and are played at Amazon Park. Click HERE for the full 2023 schedule.
