Oregon Sweeps Oklahoma State at ITA Kickoff
01/29/22 | Men's Tennis
AUSTIN, Texas – The Oregon men's tennis team moved to 3-0 on the season after sweeping Oklahoma State 4-0 in ITA Kickoff Weekend tournament today.
Oregon got the doubles point with quick work from their top-two doubles teams. The No. 17 ranked pair of Quinn Vandecasteele and Josh Charlton defeated Garcia/Zink 6-1, and Ivailo Keremedchiev and Jesper Klov-Nilsson beat Nothhaft/Verboven 6-3. The third match would not be finished.
The strong play continued from there, as the Ducks got the three necessary points so quickly that the other three matches would go unfished, and no match would reach a third set. Vandecasteele stayed dominant on the day with a 6-2, 6-4-win, while Keremedchiev (6-3, 6-4) and Klov-Nilsson (6-4, 6-1) finished the job for the Ducks.
